Eiðiskollur is the high cliff and slope above Eiði, the natural balcony over Risin og Kellingin. You do not need to climb far to understand why the road here is so admired: the village drops away behind you, the sea stacks sit below, and the islands of Streymoy and Kalsoy frame the horizon.
The ground can be wet and the wind is often stronger than it feels in the village. Stay well back from cliff edges and avoid heading up in fog. On a bright evening, this is a better use of an hour than almost anything indoors in the Faroes.
