Sandavágur is the first village you reach after emerging from the subsea tunnel that connects Vágar to Streymoy (and thus to Tórshavn). The tunnel exit is signed for Sandavágur, and the village is a two-minute drive from the tunnel mouth. Vágar Airport is about 8 km west.
