Vørðufelli is the mountain that rises directly behind Sørvágur, giving hikers a commanding view over the village, the fjord, and the airport runway that sits on the flat ground below. The ascent from the village is steep but relatively short — the summit is not especially high, and fit walkers can reach the top and return in a couple of hours.
The views from the ridge are rewarding in all directions: east across the fjord toward the sub-sea tunnel portal and the mountains of Streymoy, west along the coast toward Bøur and Tindhólmur, and south over the plateau toward Sørvágsvatn. It is a good warm-up hike if you are based in Sørvágur for a few days, and the descent back to the village is fast enough to leave plenty of day for other things.
