Akanlahti Log Transfer Facility

The Akanlahti Log Transfer Facility is a preserved timber-industry site once used to move logs between Lake Kitka and Lake Livojärvi. It operated from the 1930s to the 1960s and is described locally as the only remaining facility of its kind in Finland.

It is a niche but worthwhile stop for travellers interested in Lapland's forestry history and industrial heritage.
