Lohja is about 50 kilometres west of Helsinki on the E18 motorway. Frequent buses run from Helsinki's Kamppi terminal, and the trip is usually around an hour depending on traffic.
There is no central passenger railway station in Lohja, so public transport travellers should plan around bus times. A car makes the lake, Sammatti and the more rural nature stops much easier.
