The Maritime House, Sjöfartshuset, is a small museum behind the church that explains why Nagu feels so tied to the sea. Exhibits cover local shipping from the early nineteenth century onward, with ship models, paintings, and maritime objects from island families.
It is not a grand museum, but it is exactly the right scale for Nagu. Visit it before walking down to the marina and the harbour traffic starts to make more sense.
