One of the highlights of walking around Ceillac, Lac Miroir sits at just under 2,200 metres and is reached by a well-marked trail that climbs steadily through pine forest and alpine pasture. The walk from the village takes around two hours each way and is suitable for fit walkers of all ages.
The name says it all — on a still morning the lake reflects the surrounding ridges perfectly. June and July see the surrounding meadows covered in wildflowers: gentians, arnica and mountain buttercups. The water is cold but clear, and swimming is possible for the hardy. Allow a full day for the round trip with time to linger at the top.
