Village Walk

Beyond the Écomusée's gates, Ungersheim village itself has kept its Alsatian character. Half-timbered houses, kitchen gardens, and quiet lanes lined with geranium-filled window boxes make for a short but pleasant walk that provides real context for what the museum has reconstructed inside.

It takes no more than half an hour to wander the main streets, but it rounds out the visit well — a reminder that the museum's buildings come from living communities, not an invented past.
