Angoulême's main sights are concentrated on the upper town: the cathedral, the ramparts walk, the Hôtel de Ville, and the various comic strip murals painted on building facades around the centre. The Centre International de la Bande Dessinée is the city's most distinctive museum. For the Romanesque enthusiast, the cathedral and the remains of the Abbey of Saint-Ausone are both worth time.
