Hotel Tyndo is a grand townhouse built for Louis Tyndo after he helped bring Thouars under royal control in the time of Louis XI. Its pentagonal tower and two wings make it one of the more distinctive civil buildings in the old town.
It is a quick architectural stop rather than a long visit, best seen while walking between the centre's churches, gates, and castle.
