Champagne De Venoge

Smaller house in a fine 19th-century mansion

De Venoge was founded in 1837 by a Swiss-born wine merchant and is housed in a beautiful pale-stone mansion roughly halfway along the avenue. The boutique on the ground floor is one of the most attractive on the street and a good place to stop in even if you don't book a tour.

Their "Princes" range, with its distinctive square decanter-shaped bottle, is the house signature. Tasting visits last about an hour and a half and need to be booked ahead.
