Langeais sits on the south bank of the Loire, 24 kilometres west of Tours on the D952. By car from Tours it takes about 25 minutes; from Chinon about the same distance eastward. The town fits naturally into a Loire Valley circuit visiting Chinon, Villandry, and Azay-le-Rideau.
Trains from Tours run to Langeais in about 20 minutes on the Saumur line — the station is a short walk from the castle.
