The Collégiale Saint-Ours is one of the more unusual Romanesque churches in the Loire Valley. The nave is covered not by the usual barrel vault but by two hollow octagonal pyramids — a quirky 12th-century solution that gives the interior a striking, light-filled quality. The church sits within the citadel walls, and its west porch preserves some fine carved capitals. Admission is free and it is rarely crowded.
