The Casino Barrière is the social anchor of Deauville's seafront — a grand Belle Époque pavilion in white stone with a red-tiled cupola, opened in 1912 and still the most visible single building in town. It contains slot machines and gaming tables, a 600-seat theatre that hosts the Deauville American Film Festival screenings, several bars, and a Michelin-listed brasserie.
Even non-gamblers come in to see the public rooms — the long entrance gallery and the central rotunda are worth the brief walk-through. The casino sits on the central seafront square, opposite the Normandy Hotel and just a few minutes from the Promenade des Planches. Smart casual dress; entry to gaming requires ID.
