Le Surcouf

One of the most reliable options on the old port for straightforward Breton seafood. The menu follows the boats — you get what was caught — with a particular emphasis on crab platters (plateaux de fruits de mer) assembled to order. The dining room is unfussy, the service brisk, and the portions generous.

A good plateau de fruits de mer here — whelks, oysters, langoustines, crab, and periwinkles with rye bread and salted butter — is one of the pleasures of passing through Roscoff rather than driving straight on.
