Things to Do

Rouen's old centre is one of the densest concentrations of Gothic architecture in northern France: a cathedral that Monet painted from every angle, a cluster of churches and abbey buildings that survived the wartime bombs, and a maze of half-timbered streets that draw you from one half-discovered courtyard to the next. Most of what you have come for is within twenty minutes' walk of the cathedral square.
