A long stretch of pebble beach south of Batumi, with cleaner water than the city beaches and a much quieter atmosphere. The sea slopes off steeply just a few metres out — good for swimming, less so for small children — and the pebbles are large enough to make sandals a sensible idea.
Beach cafés and a handful of small guesthouses face the water; sun loungers are inexpensive. The beach is at its best in late June and September; in peak July and August it fills up with weekend traffic from Batumi.
