Public Transport
All parts of the city are well served by public transport. It is managed by VRN, a regional traffic organisation. At the two major stations Hauptbahnhof (railway station) and Bismarckplatz there are offices to get directions or general assistance. The one-way fare is 3,40 DM everywhere inside the city, with day passes available for travellers planning multiple rides.
Taxi
Many taxi stations throughout the city make this the easiest transportation. To call a taxi, dial 06221/302030.
Driving a car
Driving a car you should be warned that inside Old Town there are many driving and parking restrictions, which are eagerly supervised by the local administration. Nevertheless, since the city is not that big, you will find your way if you follow the direction signs (like Schloß to get to the castle). Park in one of the riverside garages and walk into the centre — it's easier than fighting the one-way streets.
