From Stuttgart, the S-Bahn lines S4 and S5 run to Ludwigsburg in about 15–20 minutes, several times per hour. The main train station is a 10-minute walk from the palace.
By road, Ludwigsburg is just off the A81 motorway (exit Ludwigsburg-Nord or Ludwigsburg-Süd) and on the B27 federal road. Parking is available around the palace grounds.
