Schorndorf is 26 kilometres east of Stuttgart and well connected by the S-Bahn regional train network. The S2 line from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof runs through the Rems Valley to Schorndorf, with frequent services throughout the day — the journey takes about 30 minutes. The train is the obvious choice: parking in the old town is limited and the drive from Stuttgart during rush hour on the B29 can be slow.
From the Schorndorf S-Bahn station, the old town centre is a ten-minute walk west.
