Jenner is the most accessible alpine viewpoint around Berchtesgaden, reached from Schönau am Königssee by a gondola (Jennerbahn) that runs year-round. The summit at 1,874 metres offers views across the Königssee below, the Watzmann massif to the west, and a panorama stretching into Austria. In summer there is hiking across the alpine plateau; in winter the mountain hosts a modest ski area.
The Jennerbahn operates daily and the ascent takes about 20 minutes. A restaurant at the top serves traditional Bavarian food. For hikers, a variety of trails lead down through the national park — the walk down to St Bartholomä on the Königssee shore takes around 3 hours and is rewarding. The round trip gondola ticket costs around 25 EUR.
