Rossfeld Panoramic Road is one of the easiest ways to get high Alpine views around Berchtesgaden without a full mountain hike. The toll road climbs above the town toward the Austrian border, with viewpoints over the Berchtesgaden Alps, the Salzach valley, and Salzburg in clear weather.
It is best treated as a slow scenic loop, not a shortcut. Stop at the viewpoints, bring layers even in summer, and avoid poor-weather days when the road's main reward disappears into cloud.
