A massive late-medieval granary just behind the Stiftskirche, with three storeys of half-timbering above a heavy stone ground floor and a steep red-tiled roof. The building was used to store the tithes of the abbey — grain paid by surrounding peasants — and is one of the largest surviving structures of its kind in southern Germany.
It is now used by the Franconian Museum for special exhibitions and events. Worth a walk around for the scale of the building alone.
