Lokschuppen Rosenheim

Converted locomotive shed that hosts Rosenheim's big temporary exhibitions.

Lokschuppen Rosenheim is the town's heavy-hitting exhibition space, set inside a former locomotive shed just east of the old centre. The building itself does half the work: a curved industrial hall, restored with enough restraint that you still feel the railway origins, but polished enough for large museum shows.

The programme changes rather than relying on a permanent collection. Expect natural history, archaeology, cultural history, and family-friendly blockbuster exhibitions, usually staged with more ambition than you might expect from a city of Rosenheim's size. Pair it with Max-Josefs-Platz and the Inn-Museum for a compact day that shows both the old trading town and its modern cultural side.
