Starzlachklamm

Narrow Allgau gorge with wet rock walls, bridges, and canyoning routes below Grunten.

Starzlachklamm is the anchor that keeps Sonthofen from being just another Alpine base. The Starzlach stream has cut a tight gorge below the Grunten, and a maintained path follows the water through rock walls, small falls, and damp ledges.

It is also one of the Allgau's well-known canyoning spots, but you do not need ropes or a wetsuit to enjoy it. For most travellers, the gorge walk is the right scale: short, dramatic, and easy to fit into a spare day.
