Rheinsberg is worth visiting in summer, when the lake is warm for swimming and the palace park is at its best. The Chamber Opera Festival runs in late June and early July, with performances in the palace courtyard. Autumn is pleasant for walking in the surrounding forests. In winter, the town is very quiet and many boat rental businesses close; the palace stays open year-round.
