Getting Around

Kassel has an extensive tram network — including the unusual RegioTram, which runs as a tram inside the city and continues out into the surrounding countryside on regular rail tracks. Trams from Wilhelmshöhe Bahnhof go straight into the centre in about ten minutes; trams up to the Bergpark (lines 1 and 3) take about 25.

The city centre is walkable. Bike-sharing schemes operate in the warmer months, and dedicated cycle paths follow the Fulda riverbank. A day ticket on the local KVV transport covers all trams, buses, and the RegioTram into the suburbs.
