Warmer Damm

Warmer Damm is the most central of Wiesbaden's English-style landscape parks — a triangular green space between Wilhelmstraße and the Hessian State Theatre, with a pond, mature trees, and curving gravel paths. It was laid out in 1859 on the site of the city's old defensive ditch, which had been fed by warm spring water (hence the name).

The park is small enough to cross in five minutes, but pleasant to linger in — a band stand hosts free summer concerts, and the wide lawn under the plane trees is a favourite picnic spot. The pond, with its small island and arched bridge, is a quiet corner just steps from the busy Wilhelmstraße.
