Dat ole Huus, "that old house" in Low German, is a farmhouse museum in Wilsede and one of the oldest open-air museums in Germany. The house dates to the 16th century, was later rebuilt, and now shows how heath farmers lived before the landscape became a leisure escape.
It is a small museum, but it fits the setting perfectly. Visit it before or after Wilseder Berg and the heath stops feeling like scenery alone; the house explains the hard rural life that shaped it.
