Tiedexer Strasse

Tiedexer Strasse is Einbeck's best half-timbered street, a long, coherent row of old burgher houses with steep gables and carved fronts. Many of these houses had brewing rights, which helps explain why the street feels more prosperous than you might expect in a modest town.

It is a short walk rather than a formal sight, but it gives Einbeck its strongest visual memory. Go slowly and look up: the charm is in the repeated timber patterns and small decorative details, not in one single landmark.
