The Lagerhalle is Osnabrück's main independent cultural venue, housed in a converted nineteenth-century warehouse on the western fringe of the old town. It runs concerts across most genres — rock, jazz, electronic, world music — alongside club nights, theatre performances, film screenings, and exhibitions. It has been the anchor of the city's alternative arts scene for decades and has a reputation well beyond the size of the city it serves, regularly booking acts that would normally play larger venues.
The building retains enough of its industrial character to feel authentic rather than gentrified: brick walls, exposed beams, a main hall that works for both standing gigs and seated performances. The bar area is open most evenings whether or not there is an event. The Lagerhalle sits close to the Waterloo Gate and the Felix Nussbaum Haus, in a part of the city that concentrates much of what makes Osnabrück interesting beyond the historic centre.
