The Hundertwasser-Bahnhof is the anchor that puts Uelzen on the travel map. Friedensreich Hundertwasser turned an ordinary railway station into a colourful, uneven, plant-topped building where the platform approach feels more like an art project than transit infrastructure.
It is especially satisfying because you do not need a special excursion to see it. Arrive by train, step outside, and the town's best sight is already there.
