Uelzen's old town is small, but it gives the station visit somewhere to go. Around the centre you will find half-timbered buildings, brick facades, and a low-key pedestrian area that feels more local than curated.
It is best approached without a checklist. Walk from the station toward St Mary's Church, take the side streets, and let the town be a calm Lower Saxony stop rather than a museum town.
