Serengeti Park is not in Walsrode proper, but it is close enough to shape why families base themselves here. The park combines a drive-through animal area with amusement rides, so it is best treated as a full day rather than a quick side stop.
It is less subtle than the heathland museums and far more commercial, but it works if you are travelling with children or want a break from churches and town centres. By car, it is an easy hop south from Walsrode.
