Heringsdorf's beach is part of Usedom's long, sandy Baltic shore. It is wide, orderly, and very German: rows of Strandkörbe in season, a tidy promenade behind, and enough space to walk for kilometres.
The water is cool even in summer, but the beach works just as well for walking as for swimming. In winter it becomes a quiet, wind-scoured strip between sea and villas.
