Brückentor is the town's postcard image: a decorative gate tower standing beside the Mosel bridge, built after the first bridge linked Traben and Trarbach in 1899. It was designed by Bruno Möhring, the architect whose Jugendstil work helped shape the town's turn-of-the-century look.
The gate mixes medieval references with Art Nouveau detail, which is exactly why it works here. It marks the crossing between the two halves of town and gives the riverfront a clear focal point.
