Schlosskirche

The Schlosskirche inside Hartenfels Castle is one of the key churches of the Reformation. Built in the 1540s, it was designed as a Protestant court chapel and consecrated by Martin Luther in 1544.

Its importance is architectural as much as religious. The space was planned around preaching and congregational worship rather than Catholic ritual, making it a prototype for later Protestant church design.
