Gidaki Beach

Gidaki is the prettiest beach on Ithaca and the hardest to get to — there is no road, only a hot half-hour walk over a headland from Skinos Bay, or a short boat ride from Vathy. The reward is a long, pale shingle crescent with deep blue water, framed by green hills.

A single small bar operates here in high summer, serving drinks and grilled food to the boats that drop in. Most days the beach is half empty even in August. Bring water if you walk in; the path is steep and the sun direct.
