Agios Nikolaos stands above the route to the Old Harbour, with a pebbled courtyard and a marble bell tower. The church began as a monastery around 1700 and later became one of the island's symbolic revolutionary sites.
The visit is short, but it helps connect the waterfront walk with Spetses' identity as a sailors' island. It is also a quiet pause between the main harbour and the busier evening scene around the Old Harbour.
