Bozsó Collection

The Bozsó Collection is the assembled life's work of János Bozsó, a 20th-century Kecskemét painter whose obsession was collecting Hungarian folk art, ecclesiastical objects, and decorative crafts. He spent decades acquiring textiles, ceramics, painted furniture, ironwork, and religious sculpture from villages across the Great Plain, eventually filling his entire house and adjacent buildings with the haul.

The collection is displayed in his former home and is a wonderfully eccentric place — rooms cluttered with peasant chests, Madonna figures, woven shawls, and Bozsó's own paintings of the same objects. There are no English labels, but the visual feast needs no translation. Open in afternoons only, closed Mondays.
