Almost everyone arrives at Keflavík International Airport (KEF), about 50 km southwest of the city. Icelandair and a handful of low-cost carriers connect Reykjavik to most major European cities and several US East Coast hubs; Iceland's strategic position between the two continents has long made it a stopover point.
From the airport the Flybus and Airport Express coaches run to the BSÍ terminal in central Reykjavik in about 45 minutes (around 3,500 ISK one-way). Taxis are available but cost upwards of 18,000 ISK. There is no train.
The small Reykjavik Domestic Airport, on the south side of town, handles flights to Akureyri, Ísafjörður, Egilsstaðir, and the Westman Islands.
