The Marshall House is an old herring-meal factory at the far end of Grandi, built in 1948 with Marshall Plan money and now repurposed as one of Reykjavik's most ambitious contemporary art centres. It houses the gallery of artist-run space Kling & Bang, the Living Art Museum (Nýló), and an exhibition space dedicated to the work of Ólafur Elíasson.
The building's industrial bones — high ceilings, riveted columns, salt-bleached concrete — are part of the experience. There is a good restaurant on the ground floor, La Primavera, for an Italian lunch after the show.
