Snaps is one of those rare Reykjavik restaurants that locals go to as much as tourists. The room is a bright glassed-in atrium with banquettes and bistro chairs; the menu is straightforward French — moules-frites, steak-frites, omelette aux fines herbes, eggs Benedict — with an Icelandic accent (a steak that may be horse, char instead of trout).
The brunch is good and the prices are reasonable for Reykjavik. Reservations recommended for dinner; weekday lunches are quieter.
