Things to Do

Ardee punches well above its size when it comes to medieval heritage. Two fortified tower houses survive in the town centre itself, and the surrounding countryside holds more ancient monuments than most visitors expect. The town also has a deep connection to Irish mythology — it is the place where Cú Chulainn killed his foster-brother Ferdia, an episode from the Ulster Cycle that gives Ardee its Irish name.
