Lough Key Forest Park turns Boyle from a quick heritage stop into a full day. The park spreads along the lake east of town, with forest trails, lake views, islands, old estate remains, and more organised activities than most small Irish towns can offer.
You do not need to book anything elaborate to enjoy it. A walk through the woods and down to the shore is enough, especially after the stone and indoor history of Boyle Abbey and King House.
