Bray Harbour sits at the mouth of the River Dargle, a little north of the busier seafront and promenade. It is used for leisure rather than heavy fishing or cargo, which gives it a gentle, local rhythm: small boats, gulls, swans, and people taking the long way round on an afternoon walk.
This is not a destination to cross Ireland for, but it earns its place in Bray because it rounds out the seafront. Combine it with the promenade, the beach, and Bray Head for a half-day that moves from harbour water to open coast. It is especially pleasant when the wind is down and the river mouth is full of birds.
