Great Sugar Loaf

Pointed Wicklow hill with a short, steep climb and broad views back toward Bray.

The Great Sugar Loaf is the neat cone you keep noticing from Bray and the north Wicklow coast. It looks more dramatic than its height suggests, and the standard walk is a satisfying half-day outing rather than a serious mountain expedition.

The upper slope is stony and exposed, so wear shoes with grip and do not underestimate it in wet weather. On a clear day the summit gives you Dublin Bay, Bray Head, the Wicklow Mountains, and the patchwork fields below in one sweep.
