Garrykennedy

Garrykennedy is a small harbour village on the Tipperary shore, quieter than Dromineer but with a charm of its own. The old stone pier juts into the lake, and the ruins of Garrykennedy Castle stand nearby — a 15th-century tower house that once guarded the narrows. The castle is not open to visitors but is photogenic from the waterfront.

The village is known for Larkin's pub, one of the most celebrated traditional pubs on the lake, famous for regular sessions of traditional Irish music and a wide selection of local whiskeys. It draws visitors from across the region.
