St Flannan's Church

St Flannan's Church in Killaloe is modern, but its grounds contain the small medieval St Molua's Church, built around the 11th century. The older church originally stood on Friar's Island in the Shannon and was moved here before the Ardnacrusha hydroelectric works raised the river level.

For visitors exploring the southern end of Lough Derg, it is a compact stop that ties Killaloe's Brian Boru history to the river landscape that shaped the town.
