The Glebe Stone Circles sit in quiet countryside northeast of Cong, a modest prehistoric site with several low stone circles. The largest has more than twenty stones, some marked with cup-and-ring carvings, and the scale is intimate rather than dramatic.
This is not a destination to cross the country for, but it adds real depth to a Cong walk or short drive. The site is especially good if you like places where Ireland's older layers are still visible without ticket offices, lighting, or much interpretation.
